MC Eiht Ge-Ge-Geyeah!

by Staff on September 19, 2006

What up what up?? Bringin that west coats flava to the masses.

Geyeah!!

On today’s plate I have MC Eiht & Compton’s Most Wanted. These guys are one of my favs. If you don’t know who MC Eiht is first off you’ve been sleeping under a rock. This guy was one of the foundation of Compton rappers in the late 80′s and early 90′s. He made a guest spot in Menace II Society (how many of you forgot Too $hort was in there too?) as A-Wax, one of the hardest dudes in the hood. And his song on the soundtrack, Streiht Up Menace was the summer banger. Down load the remix here:

. While today Eiht is not on a major label, at my last recollection, he was on Koch, he has never sold out. he is still true, still rappin about the hood and keeping it real. I have included a mix of some nice remixes some rare some that I just like for you.

Compton’s Most Wanted – “Growin Up In the Hood” (Remix):

Most people know about the beef between he and DJ Quik. MC Eiht took offense to something Quik said on an underground tape. Word has it that Eiht misunderstood what Quik said. Eiht was quick to jump the gun figuring it had to do with gang affiliation, Eiht’s a Crip and Quik a Blood. Some bad blood spilled out from this on to wax. As evidenced on this next track Eiht didn’t take shit for anyone:
Compton’s Most Wanted – “Def Wish II” (DJ Premier Remix):

This tune was a cassette only track off CMW’s first album “It’s A Compton Thang” entitled “We Made It”:

In recent years, Eiht has put out a few less notable albums (Ol school gangsta heads would still like these albums) and he has 2 acclaimed albums with Spice 1 and also a duet album with Brotha Lynch Hung which is worth a listen IMO. He has also put out an album under the alias TOny Smallz. Here is a track with The Game:

And most recently Compton’s Most Wanted has put out a reunion album, so Eiht has been keeping busy. GEYEAH!!

The hard to find album- “Hood Arrest”:

My next post I will bringing that Spice 1 gigity-gigity-gangasta to ya! Blawooo!
