QB's Finest: Queensbridge Part 1

by Travis on January 4, 2007

You love to hear the story, again and again,
Of how it all got started way back when,
The monument is right in your face,
Sit and listen for a while to the name of the place,
The Bridge,

Any self respecting Hip Hop head should know the importance of this housing project on the history of the hip hop culture. True, Hip Hop didn’t start in Queensbridge, but they sure have put out some classics. I’m rather short on time, so I’ll leave it at that and present to you Hostyle, one forth of the Queensbridge group Screwball. This album dropped fairly recently (2004) on Hydra entertainment, which is now defunct, so it is also out of print. I was unaware of this ablum until Polarity sent it my way. It’s that typical dirty QB knock em’ in the snout and laugh type shit that QB has become popular for in the past decade or so. More to come…

****Also, the second part of our year end post is postponed until tomorrow, just not enough time to finish it like I want.
