Hope everyone had a great weekend! Surprisingly, it seems as if HipHopSoul Sundays is going quite well. I was a little weary of the idea at first but… For today I’ve decided to do something a little out of the ordinary for me. I’ve been on this “Mash-Up” kick for about the last week and a half, so I’ve decided to share a few mixtapes with you. I’m sure mostly everyone knows what I’m referring to when i say “Mash-Up” if not goggle it or something dummy. Now for one thing, I’m not a big fan of the over saturated “mixtape” scene that is flooding the net’ nowadays. Secondly, most of the songs of the following mixtapes that I’ve posted are current Pop or R & B joints heard on the radio nowadays. There is just something so fresh about hearing Akon & Em backed up by AC/DC’s “Shook Me All Night Long”..seriously. No, I’m not switching up my style in any way shape or form…but damn, most of the material on these “mash-ups” sounds dope…especially the Clinton Sparks joint! I will say this, Tommy Lee saying “Get Familiar”(Sparks’ catch phrase) sounds a little corny. The 7L is mad ill, be sure to check for his remix of 90′s soulsters Groove Theory’s “Tell Me”. Out of all 3 my least favorite is the Tapemasters joint, but you be the judge. BTW, you can download all of Clinton Sparks mixtapes @ ClinonSparks.com. I highly recommend you download “The Awakening” with Sparks & Pharoahe Monch Tomorrow is back to “Eric’s Top 100 Tuesdays”. Also, sorry for the lack of commentary on the albums I posted this weekend but my daughter was running full throttle all weekend and I had to do some stuff I’ve been putting off for work. Again, thanks for the support and comments it makes me feel like the effort I put into this blog is really appreciated!
