Masterpiece 03 Mixed By Lord Finesse

Can’t really tell you much about this one folks…actually, I couldn’t even tell you how I got a hold of this CD. As you can see, the almighty Lord Finesse is on the mix and to be quite honest I agree with much of his selections but there are a few that will raise some eyebrows on this otherwise pretty dope mix. I believe that this was a Japan only import and it’s going for somewhere between the $30-$40 range at most places I’ve checked out online. I also have “Masterpiece 01″ mixed by Pete Rock that is pretty dope as well, I’ll try to post that up sometime next week if I don’t forget between now and then. Overall, this is an interesting view into Finesse’s musical taste that I think most folks will enjoy!…-Eric

DJ Cash Money-Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner?

Right from the get go, Mike Dikk of “Dumpin.Net” is probably gonna’ sh*t due to the fact this is actually one of the 10 discs that I’m sending him for his winning header submission for this site….Sorry Mike!!(it’ll be in the mail in a few days buddy!) I just picked this up off of Amazon brand spankin’ new for $1.49 and it arrived this afternoon in the mail….best $1.49 I ever spent. Anyway, I originally picked this up on cassette back in 96′ in Carlisle, Pa. somewhere near the War College and I played the hell outta’ this tape from the minute I popped it in the Jeep. Of course, everyone knows that this is DJ Cash Money of the late 80′s duo Cash Money & Marvelous and at the time of this release he was actually a DJ on WKiss FM outta’ Philly. I don’t know if this was just a local release or what the deal was, being that it was released on a little known label called Spoiled Brat Recordings(?). If you look at the track listing below you’ll see just how dope this mix CD really is. I’d even go as far as to say that this is probably….no, without a doubt my favorite mix CD of all time!! Pick this one up folks, I’m actually excited to post this for your consumption…that’s just how dope it is!!…-Eric

Funkmaster Flex-60 Minutes Of Funk Vol.II

You already know the deal with Funk Flex!!! This is Funk Flex before the Lugz endorsin’, Car Show havin’ Funk Flex!! I liked “60 Minutes of Funk: Vol.II” a little more than “Vol.I” just for the inclusion of cuts like “Time 4 Sum Akshun”, “How About Some Hardcore” and Big & The L.O.X. freestyle over “C.R.E.A.M” which takes you back to the days when Bad Boy was still raw, right before Big passed. I just copied and pasted the track listing below from Amazon and just by looking over it quickly I’m not sure if that’s exactly right, but the cuts within the archive are in proper sequence. Just a thought, I always wondered why Yvette Michelle (who, I think was on every Funk Flex mixtape (at least major-label released) never blew..I actually downloaded her debut album “My Dream” (released on LOUD) a few weeks ago and it’s kinda’ alright. Still, pick this up just to hear a glimpse of most of the artists on here before they really blew up…-Eric
