When They Reminisce June 07′

Ahhh, I just can’t stay away!! Didn’t get much sleep last night as my daughter was up off and on throughout the evening. Well, the second time I got up with her I never was able to get back to sleep so this compilation was pretty much put together at about 3 a.m. last nite. Here it is for your listening pleasure the June installment of “When They Reminisce Vol.II”, which is pretty much a collection of not so recent tracks that I’ve enjoyed over the month of May…Enjoy!! Oh, thanks to Chris, Mike & Dan for your input on the YouTube question.

Track Listig

  1. “Blood, Sweat & No Tears”-Stetsasonic
  2. “On Earth As It Is….”-Ras Kass
  3. “Sneakers”-Raekwon….the only joint worth listening to from his second release.
  4. “You Can’t See What I Can See”-Heavy D…the B Side of “Peaceful Journey”
  5. “Wild For The Night”-Rampage ft. Busta Rhymes…yeah, this album blew goats but you can’t front on this one.
  6. “Nobody Move”-Poor Righteous Teachers….Call me crazy, but I think “Black Business” was their best album.
  7. “Ni**as Night Out”-Royal Flush…I was just glancing over the production credits for “Ghetto Millionaire” last nite….Jesus, what a lineup!
  8. Oooh Whatcha‘ Gonna’ Do”-Run DMC….couldn’t even begin to tell you why I love this.
  9. Latifah’s Had It Up To Here”-Queen Latifah…I keep meaning to post “Nature Of A Sista“, only decent track from that album
  10. “I Luh Her”-Akinyele…pretty ill content, but the track is NUTS
  11. “Who’s The Man”-House Of Pain…from the movie of the same name…probably my second favorite H.O.P. cut next to the Pete Rock remix of Jump Around
  12. “5 Men & A Mic”-Special Ed & Co…..heard this on the Green Lantern “Throwback Classics” joint and I totally overlooked this posse cut from “Legal”
  13. “The Actual”-All City….probably my favorite Primo beat ever.
  14. Dumpin‘ Em In Ditches”-Spice 1….yet another album I need to post up pretty soon.
  15. “Love Hurts”-The Poetess f. Kool G Rap…real dope cut…Ironic though, Kool G Rap rhyming on a track about spousal abuse? Didn’t dude get busted out for that a few years back?
  16. “Whoa Now”-The UMC’s…saving grace from their flop “Unleashed”..couldn’t recite any of the lyrics back to you, but damn that track is dope!
  17. “The Hustle”-De La Soul…produced by the Beatminerz..I think this was on the “America Is Dying Slowly” soundtrack? Another track I almost forgot about.
  18. “Cash In My Hands”-Nice & Smooth..off the “Poetic Justice” soundtrack…one of my favorite joint from the dynamic duo.
  19. “A+Z”-A+ ft AZ..whatever you do, do not sleep on A+’s debut….I’ve been giving it alot of spins recently, there are three really good cuts on that album.

That’s what I’m talkin’ about! “Cash In My Hands” is classic Nice N’ Smooth and there are several other joints on here that I consider some of my favorites…like the Run DMC joint where DMC kicks one of his best verses ever. That Spice 1 song got played all the time in my walkman and I liked quite a few joints off of “Unleashed”. Good work, fam! One.

i would never have thought of the H.O.P joint working with dumpin em ditches but it does. Gonna be bumping this in my car on the way home from work.

Who’s the Man is the Shit. I still bump it to this day. Wild for the night as well. I always wondered why Ramp never blew, he had some dope verses. (The Flavor in your ear remix and the Frankie Cutlass album come to mind) Take it easy on Rae immobilarity grows on you after a while. Especially Live from New York. That track is a banger like sneakers. Don’t sleep.
