The nice people at Strange Famous Records are putting on a remix contest for all you aspiring producers out there. Straight from an album that has increasingly gained playing time for me all year, Prolyphic and Reanimator’s “The Ugly Truth”, the duo is offering up a remix contest. Details, you want details? “Artist Goes Pop” remix contest!!

“Artist Goes Pop” was the first single off of P&R’s The Ugly Truth album, and now its the first P&R song available for your remixing pleasure.

How do I enter, you ask?

1) Grab the a cappella of “Artist Goes Pop” here:

The BPM of the song is 95.936

The original version of this song is currently streaming on the front page of as the “Clip of the Week.” Check the bottom right hand side of the page.

2) Craft the most impressive sonic collage your brain and brawn will allow.

3) Submit your entry in the form of an MP3 attachment to with the subject line ‘ARTIST GOES POP REMIX’

The deadline is November 14th

All the best submissions will be made available and discussed on

The winner will be decided by Prolyphic, Reanimator, and the SFR staff. However, we are open to being swayed so post your support and criticisms!

The winning entry will be announced on Monday, November 17.

The top remix will win the producer a copy of The Ugly Truth CD, a copy of the “Artist Goes Pop” 12-Inch, and a Prolyphic & Reanimator T-Shirt!
