Zilla Rocca – Bring Me The Remix of Zilla Rocca

by Travis on May 4, 2009

Sendspace (old school):

In case you hadn’t been keeping up with the Jones’ at (pun!) the past few months, I’ve been posting remixes of choice songs from my mixtape Bring Me the Head of Zilla Rocca! reimagined by some of my favorite producers in Philly and beyond (Nex Millen, Small Pro, DJ Apt One and more).

Today marks the OFFICIAL release of the entire project as well as an acapella (“Pepsi With Ice”) for producers to freak and an instrumental (“Get That Gun”) for MC’s to get their flow on to. The project also includes highly sought after remixes I did of Amy Winehouse, Portishead and Jamie Lidell available for the first time without zshare links and all that goobly gook.

Here’s the rundown:

In the fall of 2008, Clean Guns emcee Zilla Rocca released the highly acclaimed mixtape album Bring Me the Head of Zilla Rocca, which made many critics Best Of 2008 list (LA Weekly, Rap Critics Poll, Wake Your Daughter Up). Described as, “A loose, funky hodgepodge of battle raps, musings on strip clubs, falling for older women, and reflections on the city of Philadelphia,” the album served as Zilla’s debut as a solo artist. Shortly after its release, Zilla reached out to several of his favorite producers and asked them to remix each song on the album. Over the course of three months, each remix made its debut on

All of the remixes have been collected into a new album, Bring Me the REMIX of Zilla Rocca, with bonus material that has never been released before!

Here’s more info on the remix contest held by 33jones in connection with the remixtape:
