TROY Interviews Guru and Solar

I think any Gang Starr fan would be interested in listening to this simply for the responses of both Guru and Solar and it also leaves some things open that prior to this interview none of us thought were even possible.

- Is there a chance for a Gang Starr reunion?
- His top 5 rappers of all-time and where he ranks himself.
- Does he still talk to Big Shug or anyone from the GS Foundation?
- What he thinks of Solar vs. Premier
- His new direction with Solar

My disclaimer and blog piece about it

About the release: Every artist needs a story, at least that’s what they say. To make an impact, they must offer something inspiring and out of the ordinary. Muneshine has a story to tell. Originally from rural Saskatchewan, Muneshine has come a long way. Now in Toronto, he has established himself as a respected and sought-after MC, producer and mix engineer. He has sold over 30,000 albums worldwide, worked with hip hop legends (Pete Rock, DJ Spinna and more) and has earned the respect and praise of fans, artists, media and industry folks alike. “Status Symbol” is a ‘no filler’ album, complete with soulful and catchy beats, buzzy guest appearances (Sean Price, Termanology, D-Sisive, Nature, Skyzoo, Kenn Starr, Little Vic, Emilio Rojas and more), and clever, honest and well-delivered rhymes. “Status Symbol” is a perfect addition to any hip hop collection.

Videos & Other Ish…..

The next digital issue of The Original is out now, featuring DJ Disco Wiz on the early days in the Bronx, 2000 A.Dee on working with Blade and the She Rockers, T La Rock, and the strange story of Man Friday & Jive Junior’s ‘Picking Up Sounds’…

Duck Down Cipher In The Park – Union Square, NYC:

At the very core of the Hip Hop art form, removing the money, flare, jewelry, and fancy marketing schemes, is the ability for an MC to rhyme. Taking it a step further is then the ability for that MC to showcase his/her talent publicly in front of a large audience and WIN THAT CROWD OVER. Duck Down Record’s artists Buckshot, Rock of Heltah Skeltah, Naledge of Kidz In The Hall, Torae, Skyzoo, Steele of Smif N Wessun and members of Team Facelift gathered at Union Square Park in New York City and started a classic Hip Hop Cipher demonstrating the embodiment of what it means to be a true MC.

Marco Polo: Making Beats (Double Barrel Tuesday):

In this week’s episode of “Double Barrel” Tuesdays, Marco Polo invites you into his world of production. Sit down with Marco Polo as he constructs a beat from start to finish. For all aspiring producers, listen to the detail that goes into his craft, as he searches beyond just looping samples from a single vinyl, and truly goes into the crates using the likes of six different songs, that have nothing to do with each other key wise, and makes them work harmoniously to create a final beat.

Trav Says: I had to post simply for the write up without even listening to it…classic!

Bossasaurus is in whatever building you are currently inhabiting (don’t ask us how we do that… it’s a prehistoric secret that many Mastadons have died trying to extract from us). Back to the subject at hand…we have got some spicy ass shit sizzlin’ in the crock pot (if you don’t know what that slang means, don’t trip). It is highly recommended that you to take some serious precautions before you listen to our remix of “Dangerous MC’s” by Redman and Method Man off their new album Blackout 2. We tested it on some dude who had taken major sedatives and he got downright freaky after about 19 seconds of it. We want to hear/see your reactions on your blog. The solemn truth is that if we get enough posts from people like you, Red and Meth pinky swore they’d get burnt with us!!! The track was also made for a contest with other semi-exciting prizes, but like most herbivores we were in it for the big bunches of green leaves. Please help us accomplish our profound dreams: Knock this shit.

Seasons Greetings,

Egon Brainparts and Negatron Johnson A.K.A. Bossasaurus

Soulstice f/Naledge & GLC “Chi Worldwide” Remix (produced by SBe)

“Chi Worldwide” is the starting point for “Beyond Borders,” just as Chicago was the starting point for my music career. It’s crazy to think about the summers we used to spend playing basketball and chasing girls while I’m touring overseas or going to the Grammys with my wife on my arm. G.O.O.D Music artist GLC and Naledge from Kidz In The Hall join me on this one. Naledge and I have been traveling in the same circles for several years, but my man Matt from MAC Media put us back in touch for this remix. I met GLC about a year ago when I interviewed him for a hip hop website. He was so cool, I knew we’d end up collaborating on something. The original version of this song made GLC’s mixtape, so I’m hoping he played it for Kanye at some point! “

Anonymous Twist

“My Daughters’ Eyes” steadily climbed up the US College Hip Hop
to #1 this week on Rapattacklives and RapNetwork Record

“My Daughters’ Eyes”

This song was written soon after my birthday earlier this year
and a few weeks before the birth of our second daughter.

Dedicated to all the “Father MC’s”

“Putting grands in RESP’s, they’re future’s secure/
I’m 34, can’t rap for rap’s sake no more”
(and I don’t mean cash neither)

If you dig it, please pass this on…

Godamus Rhyme – It’s Alive

Godamus Rhyme – “It’s Alive (the Rebirth)”

This is my two cents on Jay-Z‘s “D.O.A” and the whole autotune debate.

People get it twisted. Autotune ain’t the problem. It’s mufukkas trying to bite styles and make a quick buck or a radio single. I do whoever agree that cats who can’t sing at all have no business using it.

Nino Bless on Detox???

It was brought to our attention earlier that a rough version of a reference track that Nino Bless did for Detox was leaked across the internet. While very unethical and unprofessional on the ‘leakers’ end, their is no looking back at this point. Im sure all of you being either fans of hip hop or workers in the industry like myself have heard plenty of reference tracks in the past (T.I, Eminem etc). Unfortunately at this time we cannot simply just undo the record and make everyone pretend that they NEVER heard it. So with that said……ENJOY IT! (Download Link Below)
