WYDU Classics July 09: Ladies First Edition

by Travis on August 6, 2009

Still in a holding pattern with the move. No internet, no computer desk, no computer as of yet. So I’m trying to get things up as I go, but I really dislike just throwing up the same ole thing everyone else is. It goes against every principle I had when I started this blog. But it’s neither here or there right about now. I’m hoping to have everything up and running and have “WYDU Offices” ready to go by next week.

Until then, we keep on catching up with the WYDU Classics that we fell a little behind with. This month errrr, July features nothing but the ladies. I’ll admit, I’ve slept on the ladies through the history simple because I didn’t see them as equals to their male counterparts when it came to spittin’ on the mic. I’ve since seen the error of my ways and enjoy many female classics. These songs represent some of those tracks. I’m missing a few of my favorites, since my CDs and vinyl are still packed up, so I was left to the devices found on my computer. None the less, some classics…..

aight folks, who is the greatest female MC from back in the day? Id probably have to go with Lyte, but Lady of Rage wasn't too shabby either. For those who go way back , you have to put Sha Rock in the converasation.
