Marley Marl Monday: The Radio DJ

by Travis on August 24, 2009

What a lazy Sunday, it was a mild day in the city of trees, with temps in the eighties, and maybe even a slight hint of fall in the air. I of course have been getting over a little hangover from the night before after my official house warming get together. Good times, a little madden, lots of brew and some good food. Needless to say, I’ve been moving kinda slow most of today.

Anyway, while we wait for me to get off my ass and actually post some more time consuming posts, I thought we’d celebrate that man known as Marley Marl. More specifically, his career as a radio host. Of course we know about his producing legacy and his place as probably one of the best to ever do it behind the boards. But he was also a pioneer of sorts in the NYC radio game. Who’da thunk it?

Here are a few cheap thrills for your Monday morning, some of the Marley Marl radio shows that he has done over the years…..

Marley Marl Future Flavors show….(sorry no date)

WBLS Mix Show (again, no date)

Marley Marl One FM 98 (UK show)

Marley Marl & Pete Rock Hot ’97

Marley Marl WBLS 5-29-85
