So for whatever reason this album was on my mind when i woke up this morning, and the funny thing was Trav posted this album almost exactly 3 years ago to the day.

The Goats are known for their political twist on hip hop. Unlike the political hip hop of today the Goats were able to deliver their message in a much more fun and upbeat way. Although this album “Tricks of the Shade” came out in 1992, my first listen was probably in 1998 and I still rock it to this day. Another enjoyable thing about this album is the use of skits to tell a vivid story. I’ve heard many albums that overuse skits and it can dampen the overall feel of the album, but the Goats in my opinion successfully used skits to enhance their music.
