So the last few days I’ve been taking a peek through the archives of WYDU, looking for artists that have made some noise in previous posts. I came across a several posts that mentioned an artist named Blacastan (which can be found HERE HERE and HERE.) The first thing I noticed was that he has been mentioned 3 times in the last 10 months, so i decided to do a little more digging.
Here are a few facts from a previous post about Blacastan:
+ Hails from Hartford, CT.+ Discovered by CT Hip Hop legend’s Dooley-O & Stezo
+ “Life Of The Tape” became an internet sensation on UndergroundHipHop.com, MySpace, & YouTube – garnering thousands of listens, and views for his video, which was directed by Dooley-O.
+ Last featured as the ONLY guest artist on Jean Grae & Blue Sky Black Death’s: The Evil Jeanius, released on Babygrande Records in 2008
+ Several prominent independent hip hop labels are now involved in a bidding war to sign Blacastan to a deal.
+ Featured on Apathy’s upcoming album.
+ Now signed to Brick Records
+ Dropped Mixtape in 2006 titled, “Me Against The Radio” to critical acclaim.
+ MySpace // http://www.myspace.com/blacastan
+ Available for interviews, features, & bookings: please email – info@intlcl.com
+ New Album Drops early 2010
After searching the internet and talking to some people, I came up with a find which I could really only find in one place so I’m not sure if this mixtape is public yet or what the whole deal surrounding it is. But in any event I just need to keep the music coming so here it is. Blacastan – The Master Builder Pt. 1
