Method Man – I'll Be There For You/You're All I Need to Get By

by BC on November 10, 2009

I was digging around a few days ago, as I’m prone to do, and I found this. I really liked the LP version, All I Need, and then this came out and just blew up. It was a big hit for Meth, #3 on the Billboard singles chart and #1 on the rap chart, according to wikipedia, which is as much research as I’m willing to do at the moment (trust me it was big). And, you have to hand it to Puffy, he produced, or remixed, a real nice song and Mary J. Blige was a nice addition on the chorus. Like I said, back in 1995, this song was all over the place, including MTV, which (here comes the old man rant) used to play videos.

The Razor Sharp mix from RZA is also nice to have for those of you that might not own this (and a great mix), or just found out who Method Man is, if that’s possible. There’s also one additional track, What the Blood Clot, which you can find on Tical.

Anyway, I’ve been listening to both versions for a couple days and thought I’d throw it up here.
