MP3: Podcast Features Necro, TRUTHLiVE, Declaime, Darryl Moore, And Little Brother

by Eric on May 13, 2010

Iconocastic is back with a well-seasoned blend of the latest in hip-hop and soul to get you in the mood for all that summer has to offer. Setting things off with Necro’s “asBESTos”, Brooklyn’s dark rap hero returns to the scene, swinging his lyrical scythe over a booming rhythm. Off his new album, The Unlearning, TRUTHLiVE hits us with “Nature of Man,” a track building a lot of steam on the indie hip-hop circuit. Once your heart stops racing from these scorchers, the blend mellows out with two soulful masterpieces from the SomeOthaShip camp.

First, off his groundbreaking album FONK, Declaime brings just that with “Gangsta,” a heartfelt cry to the inner-city. Declaime label-mate Darryl Moore adds on to the vibe with the soul-drenched ballad “Dream Girl” from his upcoming album, Where I’m At. Expect to hear Moore’s velvet-smooth humming from the speakers at summer house parties when the DJ drops something to get people close and caught up in the mood. Little Brother rounds out the set with their hit single “Curtain Call”, a worthy parting shot from the acclaimed group that recently offered up their farewell album. They will definitely be missed, but don’t you miss this exotic blend of sound power from the Iconocastic crew as we welcome the warm weather with some hot grooves.
