“Power”-Kanye West (f. Dwele)

by Eric on May 28, 2010

Yeah, now I can get with this, ‘uff an “808 & Heartbreak”. “Power” is the supposed first single from ‘Ye’s forthcoming LP, “Good Ass Job”. Strangely enough, this Dwele-featured jawn is produced by none other than Strange Fruit Project’s Symbolic One (S1), good to see him getting some shine from a major cat such as Kanye. So whaddya’ think?

Just doesn’t work! All the elements are there for something fresh but it’s just not executed right. I think the guitar needs to go. It totally ruins the track.

Come on E, this is wack, do you really like this highly over rated, boring, drama queen?

Gotta agree with Hamza21. I like the melodies, percussion, chorus, piano, but the sum of these parts don’t seem to deliver. I think it would be greatly improved if ye–like he claims–would aim for more potent lyricism a la college dropout. Not impressed with his lines here.
