by Eric on June 11, 2010

Iconocastic returns yet again marching into Summer with the latest in hip-hop. For this installment we have a real treat- the much talked about “Birds Of A Feather” from legendary group Black Sheep reunites Dres with his former Native Tongues crewmates Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest, Dave of De La Soul, and Mike G. from Jungle Brothers. After you get all misty eyed once you realize the legends still have it, the young guns are up next. Moe Green, goes in with “Going In For The Kill” demonstrating why the emcee is generating so much buzz he’s got all eyes on the Bay. Brooklyn’s own Metermaids are back with DJ Rob Swift in tow for their Animal Collective Mash Up “Girls And Music”. The track appears on their soon to be released Mixtape Hello mixed by the aforementioned Swift. Rounding out the list are indie heroes and alumni of the sorely missed Def Jux camp, Junk Science with “First Snow”. Frank Nitt from the lauded Frank ‘N Dank closes the set with his banger “Go Girl”. When it comes to the best in indie hip-hop, stay tuned we’ve got you covered… all Summer long.
