Song For A Day: Obii Say & Sinitus Tempo – Prosperity

by Eric on September 8, 2010

If you’re sleeping on the DMV’s Obii Say (on the rhymes) and Sinitus Tempo’s (on the production tip) “The Vinyl Proxy: 1965″, you’re lost.  At last count, the free LP has been scooped up nearly 35,000 (!) times, so somebody is doin’ it right, huh?  On that note, once again, I slept!  Only was I reminded when Trav sat in for me on show 16 of Scrunchface of just how quickly I needed to scroll down through the Ipod archives to find one of the album’s (and year’s) finest cuts “Prosperity”.

It’s a shame that the summer is nearly over, because “Prosperity” is the perfect summer jam.  What’s so ill about this cut is the shifts and curves the track takes instrumentally.  Obii Say’s delivery and voice are a match made in heaven with this elegant, yet neck-snapping undertones provided by his partner in rhythm.  Hit the jump to peep “Prosperity”…
