Group Home – Up Against The Wall f/ Lord Jamar & MC Ace

by Eric on September 17, 2010

Check out Group Home’s second single off of their upcoming “Gifted Unlimted Rhymes Universal,” entitled “Up Against The Wall.” With production by L.A. OG DJ Lord Ron, and featuring Lord Jamar & MC Ace, this track conjures a golden age sound. Dap and Jamar lace the head-nodding beat with incisive introspection about who they are, when and where they come from. Hit the skip for audio..

Reaffirms that nothing has changed. Their 1st album’s appeal, 90% Primo, 10% Group Home. Of that 10%, it was Lil’ Dap. What was the backstory of Melachi the Nutcracker????? “I’m like a rattlesnake, but I don’t rattle.” The text wasn’t horrendous, but 15 years later, he still has no delivery. Props to Lord Jamar, even if he was paid, this should be compared to an attorney’s pro-bono work.

Nah the nutcracker has some dope lines under his belt. Sick thoughts on my mind no self control / uplift ya soul / make the brothers wanna roll / im from the bronx / new york city / the big fuckin apple where the kidz get busy. Get your hard to earn album out for reference. That being said I have to agree with the line from the Apollo Brown’s reset album: Like group home needs primo. True shit indeed.
