Cheeks has been involved in the Ann Arbor (MI) scene for almost ten years now. He has been an emcee since age 16, and was simultaneously involved in the local slam poetry scene. His works with spoken word provided a foundation to improve his lyricism and overall musical abilities. Cheeks eventually fully started concentrating on the art of emceeing at age 21.He began to work with Tree City in 2006 and assumed a role of affiliation until 2008. Joining the group was inevitable, due to the sheer chemistry he shared with the original members. After releasing two critically acclaimed projects, “Black Trees”, and “Thus Far”, within the ranks of Tree City, Cheeks has decided to release a solo project. With the support of his fellow Tree City members and Branch Out Collective team, Cheeks hopes to push forward for the future.
Tree City member and Branch Out Collective representative, Cheeks, is finally releasing his first project. It’s titled “The Potential”, and should be another great release coming from the Branch Out Collective team.
“The Potential” features Buff 1, L05 from Celsius Electronics, G.P from Tree City, Man in Charge from Celsius Electronics, The Soul, Nickie P, Prhyme Rhyme Boss, Ivy, and others. With production by: Kevin Yelvington, The Friar, L05, Man in Charge, K-Mass, Clavius Crates and others.
