Dru Ha of Duck Down finally announced the release of the highly anticipated Random Axe LP after constant questioning from the fans who have asked Hex Murda & Dru Ha about it relentlessly. While Black Milk originally said the album would drop sometime in May (few had speculated either May 24th or 31st), the official release date will be June 14th as stated by Dru Ha via Twitter after the Random Axe contest was announced. Here are the details of said contest:
Staying within the theme of the project, the group has devised a word scramble consisting of 20 key words associated with the project. Hints on the key words include the obvious…group name, individual artists, down to the more specific details…hometowns, previous solo artist albums & even the first 5 out of 15 track names on Random Axe’s album.
Fans can email firstname.lastname@example.org with their discoveries on the 20 words. The first person to get it correct will receive a custom prize package from Duck Down Music consisting of a fitted new era cap, signed albums of his/her choice & free entry to a future Random Axe show in his/her town.
Good luck & let the search begin!
As someone who’s heard the album the hype is not only well deserved but there should be more. Black Milk, Guilty Simpson & Sean Price should be on Hip Hop magazine covers because of this project. The Source & XXL should be salivating over this jawn. Rap Radar should at least make a post about it. If Rihanna mentioned Random Axe then maybe they would (why lie?). In any event, here’s a video of the recent birthday boy DJ Houseshoes previewing a few tracks from the Random Axe LP a while back. Cop it June 14th. Don’t worry, I’ll keep reminding you.
