MP3: Has-Lo – Fiber Optics (ALBUM AVAILABLE TODAY!!!)

by Eric on March 29, 2011

Today marks the official release of Has-Lo “In Case I Don’t Make It”. The album, written and produced entirely by the Philadelphia emcee/producer, is a rugged lyrical journey through jarring imagery and moody production, with a cohesive sound that pulls the listener into a web of psychoanalytical & melancholy musings. Deep, complex, and unabashedly powerful, Has-Lo “In Case I Don’t Make It” has already garnered critical acclaim in both XXL Mag (Chairman’s Choice) and the LA Weekly (Music To Pick Up).

To celebrate, MMG is releasing the 2nd single from the project entitled “Fiber Optics”, a track that opens with a Panther speech discussing freedom, Eldrige Cleaver, and escaping mental enslavement. Has-Lo takes civil rights on the mic even deeper with a collection of lyrical jewelry designed to school those living inside of hype and propaganda. The track goes beyond the prosaic & into the esoteric.

“It’s Has-Lo, I’m your guide
A rap M.R.I, a mental massage
I’m in it to rise and break free from the boundaries
And travel over the center divide
If men are derived of sand touched by the breath of life…
Then that breath becomes ours, descendant of god
And god becomes man and man will inherit the stars
Effect and the cause, Allah
Fiber optics”
