“I’d first like to once again thank all of the producers, beatmakers and artists that allowed us to play their material on the air this past Sunday. We’d like to thank St. MIC for his tireless work on arranging the playlist, securing guests & playing his own beats live as well as providing some exclusives from The Unknown and others on “Bloggerhouse presents Scrunchface Sundays” session that aired from 7-9 PM on http://www.bobblegods.com/ as without his invaluable contributions our show would not be as fresh as it is.”
“Last night I posted what was played in order but now I’ll post some information on each track so you can find it (if said slap is available for purchase, at least (ST/Mic played some exclusive tracks from albums that haven’t been finished yet & his upcoming “In The Pocket” project featuring beats made exclusively with iPhone apps). Here are the tracks that made it to air and we are working on posting a downloadable link to the show that we’ll add to this post on a later date. Wait until next week. It’ll be even iller. This I command! © Serpentor”
I made this post on May 11th, 2010 after we finally figured out how to upload our archived show from Mother’s Day 2010. We were on a conference call hosted from Eric’s office in Arkansas. I was in my bedroom & second office in Boston and ST/MiC was broadcasting from his home studio in Charlottesville, VA. The phone lines were patched into his board at home and he had about 35 beats sent from Eric & I in a ProTools sessions via a handwritten playlist we’d come up with about 30 minutes before showtime. We were done using that damb AM station signal and needing permission from each artist that we played the previous week. That show was a disaster but this one went very smoothly. ST/Mic, Eric & I knew we were on to something immediately.
On this show we played some exclusives, including beats from ST/MiC’s upcoming Producers I Know/Bloggerhouse release “In The Pocket” made strictly with iPhone apps. He had made the rough version before sending it to me before I did my lil’ A&R thingie with it. This was before I even assumed control of Producers I Know and I was playing Pete Cannon jawns from jump. If only I could find that damb Revelations Beat Tape again. We had this loud ass hiss in the broadcast due to the fact we were on phones instead of Skype (what were we thinking?) and we used to do the Top 5 in the middle of the show to tie it into Bloggerhouse. We even had a followup show featuring Unknown playing classic music often used as sample fodder.
We didn’t even get the show uploaded to iTunes as a podcast until August 2010. We converted the ProTools session into an mp3 and uploaded it streamable download links. This was when we ultimately abandoned Zshare in favor of DivShare and Usershare. Once we got our own hosting site and the iTunes links they were no longer needed. Until today when the site archive only holds half our first ever show. I then went back into an old hard drive and found the original full two hour show from this tracklist and the link will be were it was when I did this post almost exactly one year ago. We thought we’d be swimming in Apple endorsement cash by now and we’d have free iPhones & iPads judging by the shameless plugs. Too bad we only had 10 listeners at the time! Happy birthday, Scrunchface Show and thanks to everyone who’s listened to, downloaded, RT’d, contributed tracks to, appeared on or even talked shit about it. We appreciate it!
